Son numerosos los vecinos del barrio de San Andrés en Mondragón quienes organizan anualmente sus fiestas de Patrocinio de San José en torno al 1 de mayo. Unas fiestas ligadas al pasado rural de este barrio y a sus ermitas, San Josepe y San Andrés.

La revolución industrial transformó aquel entorno bucólico en un enjambre de viviendas que acogió a gentes venidas de todos los puntos de España y, probablemente sea este, uno de los barrios obreros más populosos y diversos de todo Arrasate.
